History before Dreamscape:

A younger Aithne had surely been a happier one. She spent her days frolicking through flower fields and chatting with passing pokemon. Life went by like that for a solid ten years or so before something extraordinary happened.

A human. He stumbled upon her flower field per chance, only about 10 years of age himself. Though there was something cruel in his eyes when he spotted Aithne. Whether she was a legendary or not, he didn't care. She was rare, which meant she had to be strong.

Aithne had no idea about humans back then, and was captured easily because she didn't know what was happening at all. Frighted and confused in the confined pokeball, she had no premonitions to what was to happen next.

She was sent into battle many a times with that trainer, but she was weak, barely knowing two attacks. So he beat her and abused her, screaming at her that she needed to be stronger. Aithne always tried her best, but her self-confidence was shaky, and the fact that she got hit every time she did anything incorrect was not encouraging.

One day she was sent out to battle another legendary the boy had stumbled upon. A tall and menacing Regice. She fainted within the first few minutes of the battle, of course, due to heavy type advantage. She was to stay in Regice's snowy cave forever, it seemed, for once she fell asleep she dreamt a dream she never wanted to wake from...

History after Dreamscape:

Aithne awoke in the chilly Glacier Alps in a body that was not her own and clothes not nearly thick enough to protect her from the snow. She was on the mountain side, and at the top she saw a glowing light, like a beacon to her in the darkness. It appeared to be a temple of sorts, but from where she was she really couldn't tell.

The frigid winds whipped angrily over the landscape as hail became to fall viciously, a threat to any who dared cross it. Ice was certainly not a friend of Aithne, who was making her way up the mountain as slow as an ant. Gritting her teeth, she forced herself forward. The temple was only a couple more hundred feet.

Yet the cold was more viscous then ever, as if the North Wind had it out for her. Her sharp gasp was swallowed by the roar of the winds as she collapsed into the snow, raising a shaking hand to attempt to pull herself further.

With a shudder, her feeble attempts to move in the storm stopped. She curled into a ball, trying to pool her warmth until someone came to save her.

Indeed she was found a half-hour later by a patrol of monks. She was nearly frozen solid and the monks hurried her up the hill to the temple to defrost her, as she was slipping away quickly.

Brought back into consciousness in the temple, the first thing she saw was a giant golden statue in tribute to Acrceus, and she was dazzled. The monks were surprised she did not know of him, but then dismissed her as a new-comer.

The entire night they spun tales of Arceus' kindness and splendour into her head. Arceus sounded like perfection and love in her head, and all the tails of his good deeds compared against her previous trainer in her mind.

Surely Arceus would be a much better master to serve? When asking the monks, they nodded, saying any could join the church if they believed. So it was done, and from that night on Aithne was an avid follower of Arceus, and he was her only joy in the world. She's sworn her life to directing everybody else to the light so they can all be a part of something greater, but after a few years it became obvious some would plain out refuse, but she would never give up, not now, when she had courage from her master and not a threat to fuel her enthusiasm.

Her previous life had hardened her to some degree, however, and though she found joy in her religion she found it in nothing else, making her consistently seem angry and bitter most of the time.

Though slowly her deeds for the church made her popular in the opinion of the other church-dwellers, which were a huge population in a place like the Glacier Alps. So she was elected as the ambassador of the place and has kept the title with an iron fist for the last couple of years.

Personality:

Aithne is usually sullen and angry and a real stick-in-the-mud overall. If she sees you doing unholy things she will yell at you or attack you until you cease said action. She forms grudges easily, and is very protective about Arceus' artifacts. Anyone who attempts theft of them are as good as dead in her eyes.
